Can I use the 900 Series® teeth in the 700 Series® pockets?

How do I know which tooth will work best with my machine?

How often should I rotate my teeth?

Accepted Answer

Teeth should be rotated or changed when they start to dull, which decreases their performance.
 
With the red and green Greenteeth®, this will usually occur when they round off about 1/16” on the edge.
 
With the Wearsharp®, you will want to rotate them before the diameter starts to decrease or when performance is inadequate.

Teeth & Pocket Torque Specs

All LoPro® bolts (500, 700 & 900 Series®) should be torqued to 180 ft. lbs with GREEN-SEIZE™, or 240 ft. lbs dry.

All Greenbolt® or Cap Screws (1100 Series®) should be torqued to 180 ft. lbs with GREEN-SEIZE™, or 240 ft. lbs dry.

What happens if I over-torque a bolt?

Over-torqueing a bolt will stretch the threads, causing the bolt to loosen by compromising the integrity of the bolt and it’s holding ability.

What happens if I under-torque a bolt?

Accepted Answer

Under-torqueing a bolt will lead to insufficient clamping force causing the bolt to loosen.

What happens if the bolt loosens?

Accepted Answer

Not only can a loose bolt break, but it can also cause premature wear to the mounting holes on the wheel. This wear creates excessive clearance that can result in other bolts loosening over time.
 
The more clearance, the greater the wear on the mounting hole and the odds of the bolt breaking. Excessive clearance can also increase the possibility of the tooth being mounted at the wrong angle or depth resulting in the tooth removing more or less material than it was designed. This change in the amount of material removed can cause vibration and poor performance.

What is a Wearsharp® tooth?

Through extensive research & development, we found a way to improve upon the original design of the Greenteeth® by altering the concave of the tooth. The patented design of the Wearsharp® allows the tooth to retain a sharp cutting surface, unlike traditional teeth that tend to round over.

Made with the same high quality carbide as the original Greenteeth®, the Wearsharp® teeth provide a more consistent cut throughout the life of the tooth. While we still continue to carry the original red & green versions of the Greenteeth®, we recommend the Wearsharp® for all applications involving the 700, 900 & 1100 series®. The Wearsharp® are same price as the Greenteeth®.

What is GREEN-SEIZE™ and why should I use it?

GREEN-SEIZE™ is a premium anti-seize compound composed of fine copper and graphite powders in high-heat organic carrier. It is used to prevent mechanical seizing and to allow a lower torque value to achieve a greater clamping force.

What is the difference between the Red & Green versions of Greenteeth®?

Our original Greenteeth® are available in two versions – red & green. The redtooth, as compared to the green, has a deeper concave making the edge less blunt therefore better for sandy conditions. The green tooth has a more shallow concave, making the edge more blunt and better for adverse conditions.

Will I have to drill new holes in my cutter wheel to install the LoPro® pockets?

It shouldn’t be necessary to drill holes in your cutter wheel. The pockets are designed to fit most standard wheels.
